Formed in April 1948 and at a size of over 13,000 square kilometers, Tsavo East National Park is one of the largest and oldest wildlife parks in Kenya.
Besides being famous for its dust covered elephants, the park is also known for its maneless lions, zebras, giraffe, gazelles and if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the rare rhino, leopard or even cheetah. Since the park is not very far from the Kenya coast, the safari would depart from your hotel very early in the morning between 5:00am and 5:30am, arriving at the park gate around 09:00am where you immediately commence with your first game drive looking for wildlife until lunch time.
